The Marine Recreation Association's 48th Annual Educational Conference and Trade Show will be held this year at the spectacular Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California, home to PGA golf tournaments, the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and just twelve miles from the classic restaurants and entertainment of the Gaslamp Quarter and beautiful San Diego Bay.

This year's Conference will kick off on Monday, October 21st with three special events:

The 25th Annual MRA Golf Tournament will tee off at the Torrey Pines North Course, the more scenic of the two world-renowned Torrey Pines golf courses, newly renovated by Tom Weiskopf in 2016, and one of the most spectacular golf courses in America.
The 7th Annual MRA Marina & Boatyard Tour will visit a number of San Diego marina and boatyard locations, providing an in-depth view of some world-class marine operations.
And the "Introduction to Basic Marina Operations" seminar will provide a valuable opportunity for both new and seasoned managers and employees to enhance basic industry skills and knowledge focused on best management and operations practices and policies.

A Welcome Reception for all attendees and guests will be held Monday evening in the Conference Trade Show pavilion at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines conference center. Regular Conference seminars, Trade Show exhibits, and other events will continue Tuesday through Wednesday.

The $215 / person tournament fee includes green fee, cart, drink tickets, and a $15 food voucher. A best-ball, scramble format is typically followed. Awards will be given at the Monday night Welcome Reception.

The Torrey Pines North Course was renovated in 2016 by renowned golfer Tom Weiskopf, and is the host course for the PGA Tour's Farmers Insurance Open. The North Course is shorter, and considered to be more scenic than the South Course, with many picture-perfect opportunities along the track. Bordered on its north end by the Torrey Pines State Reserve, it's a golf course to be remembered and an experience not to be missed.

The cost for this important series of introductory seminars is $94 per attendee and includes lunch. The morning session will cover Introduction to Basic Marina Operations: Policies & Practices, discussing such topics as boatyard and marina best management practices, leasing and administrative policies and practices, and providing top-flight customer service. The afternoon session will provide critical information related to Basic Marina Safety & Maintenance, including how to assess and manage risk in a marine environment, marina and boatyard maintenance and safety policies and practices, and emergency management planning and practices. This is a session that all new marine industry managers and key employees should plan to attend.
